Submitting a Manuscript to Éditions de la MSH
As the publishing house of the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme, Éditions de la MSH publishes original, rigorous research works with an international outlook. It invites researchers to submit manuscripts that correspond to its editorial scope.
Submission guidelines
Proposals must be sent exclusively by email to editions-msh@msh-paris.fr, as a complete manuscript in Word format, without specific layout requirements.
Each submission must include the information required to assess its academic and editorial relevance:
- Author's name
- Academic biography of the author
- Email address
- For edited volumes: name(s) of the editor(s) (maximum of two)
- Proposed title of the work
- Origin of the manuscript (thesis, conference, workshop, etc.)
- Abstract, main argument and academic positioning (1–2 pages)
- Intended readership (½ page)
- General presentation of the book and its objectives, table of contents (maximum 10 pages), including a summary of each chapter
- Length and format of the manuscript (monograph or edited volume)
- Short bibliography of the author (maximum 1 page)
- Similar publications
Depending on the collection, manuscripts must comply with specific formats (length in characters, type of publication, etc.).
→ Consult the catalogue to situate your proposal. (FR)
Evaluation and review process
Particular attention is paid to the scientific quality of submissions, which are subject to a double evaluation process: academic and editorial.
Only complete manuscripts are reviewed. Incomplete submissions or those sent by post are not taken into account. No acknowledgement of receipt is sent, and follow-up enquiries are discouraged. If no response is received within three months, the manuscript should be considered as not selected.
Authors must confirm that they hold the rights to their text and agree to comply with applicable legal provisions.
Founded in 1970, Éditions de la Maison des Sciences de l’Homme has developed an original catalogue of more than 1,000 titles in the social sciences and humanities.
