Mobility and cooperation programmes
In collaboration with several partners—foundations, universities, and foreign academies—the Fondation Maison des Science de l’Homme (FMSH) offers mobility opportunities and develops scientific cooperation programmes to support the creation of international teams and researcher networks centred around joint projects.
The Maison Suger research residence
Place of residence and research for foreign researchers, located in the heart of Paris, Maison Suger has been welcoming foreign researchers in the social sciences and humanities since 1990. Each year, it opens its doors to nearly 200 researchers, offering them an optimal working and living environment.
Support programme for researchers in difficulty
The FMSH supports researchers in countries marked by various obstacles to their academic freedom, who cannot conduct and develop their research projects freely.
400 researchers supported per year
15 funding programmes
35 calls for applications per year
Since 1970, Éditions de la Maison des Sciences de l'Homme (MSH) has been developing an original catalogue in the humanities and social sciences, with more than 1000 titles, 26 collections, and 18 journals to its name. Éditions de la MSH is committed to an ambitious policy that combines editorial excellence with the search for new dissemination models.
Diffusion of publications in the social sciences and humanities
The Diffusion department at FMSH ensures the dissemination and distribution of a catalogue of more than 30,000 titles in the humanities and social sciences, offered by 50 academic publishers. Each year, it promotes nearly 700 new books and journals to general and specialised bookstores, cultural operators, online retailers, and libraries.
Audiovisual dissemination of research
Since 2015, the FMSH has been developing the audiovisual E-platform Canal-U, the leading platform in France for audiovisual resources for higher education and research. Open to all knowledge-producing institutions looking to showcase their videos and podcasts, Canal-U offers exclusive access to French and Francophone scientific audiovisual content.
Encounters at the FMSH
Each year, the FMSH organises and hosts more than 50 workshops, conferences, and seminars on major social issues. Open to members of the scientific community and the general public alike, the activities on offer aim to promote ideas and outputs in the humanities and social sciences and encourage encounters between the HSS and the population at large.
