Gustavo Celedón

Gustavo Celedón holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Paris 8. He is a Professor and Researcher at the School of Film and Audiovisual Arts at the University of Valparaíso, a Researcher at the Centre for Artistic Research at the same university, and a Visiting Researcher at the Laboratory for Studies and Research on Contemporary Philosophical Logics at the University of Paris 8.

The project

Title: Traces of the philosophical links between France and Latin America (1985 to the present day).

"This project aims to reconstruct the Franco-Chilean philosophical scene that emerged in 1985 and has since given rise to a multitude of exchanges and theoretical developments which have yet to be systematised. From that year onwards, a new intellectual landscape took shape, forging unexpected connections between Chilean philosophers—excluded or marginalised from universities under military control following General Pinochet’s coup d’état—and French philosophers, notably those affiliated with the Department of Philosophy at the University of Paris 8, the newly established International College of Philosophy, and the Centre for Political Research at the Sorbonne, with active participation from Chilean exiles in France."
