International mobility programme for professors and senior researchers
Ongoing call
Deadline for application

The DEA mobility programme allows foreign researchers from all continents to come and carry out their research (fieldwork, library and archive work) in France for periods of 4 to 6 weeks.

Created in 1975, on the initiative of Fernand Braudel in agreement with the State Secretariat for Universities, the "Associate Directors of Studies" (DEA) programme is the Foundation's oldest international mobility programme.

Many internationally renowned researchers have been invited under this programme, thereby contributing to the construction and development of scientific cooperation networks and the promotion of French research abroad.

  • The program is intended exclusively for holders of university professorships or equivalent positions in higher education and research institutions.
  • Candidates must be under 65 years of age at the time of their stay.
  • Priority is given to projects requiring fieldwork (surveys, work in libraries or archives, etc.) in France.
  • Any application for the exclusive purpose of writing an article or a book will not be considered.
  • 3 calls per year
  • 49 mobilities carried out
  • 29 nationalities
  • 18 disciplines represented
  • 170 000€ of funding granted
