Fahimeh Darchinian

Invited researcher of the 2026 DEA Programme | In residence at Maison Suger in September and October 2026
Mme DARCHINIAN Fahimeh

Fahimeh Darchinian is a linguist, literary translator from French into Persian, and Associate Professor of Sociology at the Université de Montréal. Her research programme is structured around two main axes: first, the analysis of processes of alienation and othering affecting minoritized groups in educational and workplace settings; second, the study of dynamics of precarization that underpin the neoliberalization of higher education. Her current research project, supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), focuses on the employment conditions and teaching practices of contract academic staff in Canada, a project she seeks to deepen and extend through a comparative France–Canada dimension during her research stay at the FMSH.
