Research Without Borders: A Journey into FMSH Initiatives
Dégradé violet issu du Journal de la FMSH n°2

With this second issue of the Journal de la FMSH, we are delighted to give voice to all those for whom the Foundation's teams work every day. The FMSH's actions span the entire chain from incubation to dissemination of research, enabling the scientific imagination to come to life in a wide variety of forms.

This issue reflects the richness of the programs developed by the Foundation, as well as the initiatives it supports, in the service of knowledge and learning on a national and global scale. The different sections provide an overview, from support programs for inward mobility, of which the Maison Suger is an emblematic example, to initiatives to promote research, illustrated by the Livres en images series. This issue also highlights the thematic and geographical diversity of the research projects and teams supported by the Foundation.

Readers will travel throughout the pages, from Mauritania to Brazil, from the Nordic countries to Southeast Asia, discovering a plurality of perspectives on crucial contemporary issues. The habitat, the shoreline, water, plants, archives and music are some of the themes addressed in this issue, offering a critical understanding of today's challenges.

Lastly, this issue is also an opportunity to discover a major partner of the FMSH, the French delegation of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, with which a cycle of conferences on the Oceans will be organized in early 2025. This cycle, which aims to prepare the United Nations Conference on the Oceans scheduled in Nice from June 9 to 13, 2025, marks the commitment of the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme to this vital theme for the future of the planet.
