Zhaoguang Ge is a graduate of Peking University. He is currently a full professor at the Institute of Cultural and Historical Studies and the Department of History at Fudan University. His main areas of research are the religious, intellectual and cultural history of East Asia and China.
The project
Title: Chinese identity, contemporary histography
" As part of his invitation to Inalco, Professor Ge Zhaoguang will give two lectures on the renewal of Buddhism in China in the modern era:

As part of his invitation by Professor Lu Zhang to the Fondation la Maison des Sciences de l'Homme, two public meetings are planned:
1) Dialogue between Ge Zhaoguang and Jean-Claude Schmitt on " The work of historians of our time in different political and cultural contexts: a cross-view ". May 3, 2024, 5pm-7pm, Maison Suger, 16 rue Suger, 75006, Paris
2) Round table organized around his book "What is China?", on the occasion of the publication of its French version. A book signing will be held on the same day.
