Stéphane Dufoix

Coordinator of the Seminar For a non-hegemonic globalized sociology [2016-2018]

Stéphane Dufoix is Professor of Sociology at the Paris-Nanterre University (Sophiapol laboratory) and a Professor at Sciences-Po Paris.

Research Project

He works on the history of concepts and the historical sociology of the social sciences. He is responsible at the Collège d'études mondiales of the Global Sociology Seminar.

Publications

Among his recent publications: Le Tournant global des sciences sociales, dirigé avec Alain Caillé (Paris, La Découverte, 2013) ; La Dispersion. Une histoire des usages du mot diaspora (Paris, Éditions Amsterdam, 2012). Since 1981, he has been leading an international sociology team with Eric Macé (University of Bordeaux) around the perspectives of a global sociology. He is currently preparing a Handbook of Introduction to Global Studies (with Vincenzo Cicchelli) and an essay on global sociology.
