Sandra Gayol is a researcher at the CONICET and a professor at the National University of General Sarmiento (UNGS). She holds a PhD in History from the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS). As specialist in the social and cultural history of Argentina and Latin America in the 19th and 20th centuries, her research focuses on political emotions, citizenship, and death. She is the author of several influential works, including Una pérdida eterna (2023), Muertes que importan (2018), and Honor y duelo en la Argentina Moderna (2008). She has also supervised numerous researchers and doctoral students through international academic networks.
