Isabelle Chariglione

Isabelle Chariglione is Psychologist, Neuropsychologist and Professor. She is Specialist in Gerontology by the Brazilian Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology. She is currently a Professor at the Institute of Psychology, in the Graduate Program in Developmental and School Psychology (PGPDE) and one of the coordinators of the Laboratory of New Epistemologies and Human Development - LabNEDH at the University of Brasília.

The project

Titre: Development of the older Person and Cultural Differences : A Cognitive and Intersectional Analysis

This postdoctoral research proposal is aimed at investigating theoretically and methodologically the developmental processes of adults and older people and some of their intersectional aspects, such as class and ethnic inequalities. The Plan detailed here will be implemented by me, a professor at the Department of School and Developmental Psychology – PED, under the supervision of Professor Anne-Marie Ergis, coordinator of Gerontological Psychology at the Institute of Psychology, Université Paris Cité. This proposal and the supervision of Prof. Ergis are both aimed at achieving an in-depth understanding of developmental processes in different cultures. Human aging refers to a developmental process involving diverse, and at the same time, specific transformations. Research on longevity have attracted researchers dedicated to studies in the most diverse fields of knowledge. The main expected result of my proposal is a deeper understanding of intersectional issues, which I have been studying in recent years, and thus the promotion of future studies, guidelines and disciplines addressing this theme.
