A comparative analysis").
The project
Title: Social cohesion in working-class neighborhoods: proposals for research and public policy action
"This visit is part of the work I'm doing in the Valencian district of Els Orriols on ethnocultural diversity and coexistence, in the context of a long-term ethnographic project within the "Dynamics of coexistence, in multicultural spaces and environments" line of the MIDICO research group at the University of Valencia. The topic I intend to address is building community ties in neighborhoods affected by two major processes. First ervices, private and public infrastructures and public spaces.ly, the processes of urban precariousness defined by a combination of housing deficiencies, This is a process in which public policies have played a fundamental role, and which involves the construction of a negative image of these neighborhoods, to which the authorities themselves have contributed through practices such as the labelling of "vulnerable neighbourhoods", and to which social science researchers can contribute. France has been a benchmark for socio-anthropological work on urban precariousness, with the development of contributions echoing expressions such as "quartiers sensibles" or "quartiers en crise" and, in particular, the proposal of the notion of "neighborhood effects" to designate the influence of living conditions in these areas on their inhabitants and, in particular, on their social perception."
