Canal-U
Specially designed to meet the needs of scientific audiovisuals, Canal-U is a national higher education and research program supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and managed by the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme.
A platform dedicated to scientific dissemination and communication
Open to all knowledge-producing institutions, the platform makes it easy to create, free of charge and with no obligation of exclusivity, a channel to host, promote and share video and podcast resources.
Fully public, it guarantees an advertising-free, sustainable and secure environment, perfectly integrated into the higher education and research ecosystem.
A multidisciplinary scientific audiovisual collection with free access
Interviews, conferences, symposiums, courses, podcasts... thanks to its many contributors, Canal-U makes a richly documented, multidisciplinary audiovisual collection freely available to all.
With more than 360 channels and 50,000 resources, the Canal-U platform allows you to see and hear the science of yesterday and today in all its diversity.
An open science platform
Since its creation in 2001 by the New Technologies Mission of the French Ministry of Higher Education, Canal-U has been part of the open access to science movement.
Developed in accordance with the FAIR principles (easy to find, accessible, interoperable and reusable), the Canal-U platform is richly documented and facilitates the distribution and sharing of scientific audiovisual content to the greatest number of people.
Recognized in 2021 by the MESRI as part of its data policy, Canal-U is fully in line with the national mechanism for open science.
