Marian Nur Goni, co-founder of the online journal Trouble dans les collections, is an art historian and historian. His thesis, defended at EHESS in 2017, was entitled « Réparer (avec) l’archive ? Histoires de photographies somalies et de leurs circulations (1890 – 2016) ». His work, having a diasporic and pan-African focus, mainly focuses on the history of collections of objects and photographs in / from East Africa, thereby raising questions of transmission of memories, of writing of the history and heritage development process. She is a lecturer at the University of Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis.
The first four issues are part of the project "Trouble dans les collections. Trajectories of ideas, knowledge and objects between museums in Europe and Africa” led by Lotte Arndt, Emmanuelle Chérel, El Hadji Malick Ndiaye and Marian Nur Goni, funded in 2020 and 2021 by the Fondation Maison des sciences de l'homme. An editorial committee is being set up to develop this publication in the years to come.
