Luca Queirolo Palmas is Professor of the Sociology of Migration and the Sociology of Culture at the University of Genoa where he also directed the "Laboratorio di Sociologia Visuale", a centre for the production of sociological films on various contemporary global themes. Over the last 10 years, he has studied at length popular street cultures and urban gangs in Europe and Latin America. Associated with the “Global City” Chair (Saskia Sassen and Robert Sennett), he is currently developing a film ethnography on youth in the post-Arab Spring in Tunisia.
