Laura Colombo

Laura Colombo, who is already an associate professor, is a research fellow in French literature at the University of Verona,, where she is also Director of the C.R.I.E.R. (Centre de Recherche Interdépartemental sur l'Europe Romantique) and its journal Romanticismi. In 2005, she obtained a Doctorat d'État (Texte, Imaginaire, Société) from the Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis, under the supervision of Béatrice Didier.

Her research and publications focus on: - women's writing, particularly in the 19th century (Marie d'Agoult, George Sand, Marceline Desbordes-Valmore and others), but also in the French-speaking world; - the relationship between literature, music and dance; - literary translation (with translations by Georges Simenon, Mme Riccoboni, Werewere Liking and others)

The project

Title: 1) La Gazette des femmes (1841-847): Precisions and subsequent discoveries. 2) Proceedings of the Colloque Rudolf Nureyev et la littérature: dance, choreography and reception

"Research at BnF, Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris, Bibliothèque Marguerite Durand, Bibliothèque de l'Opéra and Centre National de la Danse de Pantin for: - Continuation, within the framework of the Projects of Excellence on Digital Humanities and Inclusive Humanities of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Verona, of a project for a database on women's newspapers in France in the first half of the 19th century,  starting with the Gazette des Femmes (1841-1847). - Editing, scientific introduction and contribution to the proceedings of the international colloquium on "Rudolf Nureyev and literature: dance, choreography and reception", which took place at the University of Verona in June 2024, in contact and collaboration with researchers from BnF and the Paris Opera. - Continued final research and editing for the critical edition of George Sand's Dernier amour, for the complete works edited by Béatrice Didier for Champion. - Continued research for a volume on the reception of Mme de Staël in nineteenth-century women's journals. - Personal research for other publications and ongoing projects, in contact and collaboration with French research centers (SEMDV, CELIS), and meetings with French and American colleagues for ongoing scientific projects."
