Gilvete Gabriel

Gilvete Gabriel holds a post-doctorate in education and sociology from the Federal University of Paraíba, a PhD in education from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, and a master's degree in education from the Federal University of Amazonas. She is a tenured professor in the Master of Education program and a professor of pedagogy courses at the Federal University of Roraima, and has experience in: autobiographical narrative, pre-service and in-service training, education, children's autobiography, indigenous teacher training, field teacher training.

The project

Title: Continuing education and the recognition of teachers' narrative identity in the Brazilian Amazon

"This research represents the culmination of all the projects that I have followed, guided and developed as leader of the Educational, Autobiographical, Interdisciplinary and Intercultural Studies and Research Group of Roraima – GEPAIIRR/UFRR. Thus, seeking to implement and consolidate research on the narrative identity of teachers and the recognition of savoir-faire in reference groups. The objective of the proposal is to understand and interpret the configuration and reconfiguration of the narrative identity of teachers in the Amazon context with its challenges of geographic, social, economic, political and pedagogical boundaries. In methodology, I adopt mimesis of continuing education based on Ricoeur's hermeneutics (2006). The bibliographic research will be carried out at the Paul Ricoeur Foundation, in France."
