«Liberté et calcul. La politique des algorithmes »

Algorithms are playing an increasingly important role in our social lives – in opinion polls, in voting behaviour, in advertising. Above all, they influence the way in which social issues can become political. We cannot therefore simply use algorithms or accept their use, but must fundamentally clarify where and how we want to use them. Only if we consider them political and treat them democratically will we avoid the risk of submitting to them and thus depoliticising society.

‘Interventions’ collection

Scientific research can help shed light on the concerns of our fellow citizens, guide them, and satisfy their intellectual curiosity and expectations. This is particularly true in the humanities and social sciences. The ‘Interventions’ collection offers rigorous, demanding works based on thoroughly proven knowledge. These works are also written in accessible language and go far beyond mere popularisation, seeking to advance public debate.

‘Interventions’ is a collection for all readers who wish to benefit from the rigour of academic knowledge in order to strengthen or test their convictions and thus participate in the contemporary debate of ideas.
