Confluencing urban thought to rethink the city

Franco-Nordic conversations
Rencontrer la pensée urbaine pour penser la ville
Rencontrer la pensée urbaine pour penser la ville
2023 winning project of the call "Franco nordic programme"

As the planet increasingly warms up and, simultaneously, increasingly urbanises, there is a dire need to rethink what the city is, what it can be and how it can be conceptualised in a way that allows humanity to survive the Anthropocene and enter a Post-Anthropocene period. This application will address these questions and the dual planetary crisis of climate change and urbanisation by, if funded, establishing a multi-format critical dialogue across the streams of urban thought in the Franco-Nordic context : Comprising three institutions in France, Denmark and Norway, the application seeks funding for three workshops and one Master or PhD course, as well as support for one joint publication and one draft research project application for ERC and/or research councils in Denmark, Norway or France. Furthermore, the application will want to establish « The Franco-Nordic Conversations on Urban Thought» network that will be configured to outlast the 2 year life-span of the seed money funding.
