Presentation of the project

"The aim of this post-doctoral project is to grasp the meaning of French diplomatic practices in terms of digital technologies and economic attractiveness. Based on the relationship between digital and economic influence since Emmanuel Macron's first quinquennium, this research will elaborate the case of French foreign policy, drawing on the operative concepts of economic diplomacy, digital diplomacy and influence in a pluralist and sociological perspective of international relations. We will study the various dimensions of this encounter between the digital world and the economy in the context of the world of French influence. By taking into account France's economic positions on international issues relating to digital transformation, key issues in French digital diplomacy and the representations of various public or private players on economic diplomacy in relation to digital, will be studied around a series of surveys at the Quai d'Orsay, the Ministry of the Economy and French Tech firms."
