Presentation of the project

"After the First World War, the need for the great powers to strengthen the cultural dimension of their foreign policy increased. In this context, sections devoted to cultural, academic and scientific aspects were created within diplomatic services. During this period, the University of Buenos Aires became a hub for french, italian, german and spanish academics and professors. Thanks to the arrival of foreign professors, Argentina became involved in the process of internationalizing science and university life. The presentation aims to explore the academic, political and diplomatic uses that the french, germans and spanish have made of the opportunities offered by the exchange, and the limits they have found for their actions in the Argentine scientific and academic environment."
