The research network ‘The new French Sinology’ is pleased to invite you to the third session of its bimonthly seminar entitled: "Chinese Theories" vs Cross-Cutting Approaches in Social Sciences: The Case of Research on Childhood.

At a time when Chinese studies are facing new challenges related to the political developments in China, Camille Salgues will address several key issues concerning these studies in France and Europe during this new session.

The speaker

Camille Salgues holds a PhD in Sociology from EHESS Paris. He has worked at four major Chinese universities (ECNU, SCNU, Sun Yat-sen, and UESTC) and is currently a postdoctoral researcher within the European project China Horizons DWARC (Dealing with a Resurgent China) at Sciences Po Paris. He recently published Une après-midi à Shanghai. L'enfance et la question anthropologique de l'âge (An Afternoon in Shanghai: Childhood and the Anthropological Question of Age) with ies (Editions of the Haute École de Travail Social de Genève).
