China Analysis

It is well known to all that China is going through significant changes that also affect the global situation. Understanding contemporary China has thus become an urgent and important task, yet increasingly difficult due to China's growing internal control, self-isolation, and tensions in its relations with the outside world.

To interpret the limited information available on China and to follow its political, economic, social, and cultural developments, Professor Lun Zhang is organizing a monthly seminar titled China Analysis at the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (FMSH). Using publicly available information, this seminar aims to examine and analyze events that have occurred in China during the past month in the political, economic, social, cultural, diplomatic, and military fields, in order to draw a provisional assessment to help better understand what is happening in China today.

The first session of the seminar will be in French.
