The project

Title: Womanizing Land: The culture of women not owning land - Narratives & Challenges for a sustainable planet

"By exploring the narratives surrounding women's non-owning land, this study sheds light on the multifaceted implications for women and their communities. It delves into the cultural and social factors that contribute to the perpetuation of gender disparities in land ownership, uncovering the historical roots and contemporary manifestations of this issue. The project emphasizes the need for a comprehensive understanding of the intersectionality of gender, culture, and socio-economic dynamics in the context of land ownership.

Furthermore, the project examines the challenges women encounter in their pursuit of land ownership, including legal barriers, social norms, discriminatory practices, and limited access to resources. By highlighting these obstacles, the study aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the complex factors that hinder women's land rights and restrict their empowerment. Additionally, the project will pursue and mention the initiatives and interventions that have been implemented to promote gender equality in land ownership. It explores successful strategies, policies, and programs that empower women, foster their agency, and challenge traditional norms. By drawing lessons from these initiatives, the study seeks to identify effective approaches to address the barriers and promote women's land ownership in diverse cultural and socio-economic contexts."
