Liia Ermakova

Liia Ermakova teaches classical languages and European literature at the Higher School of Economics (St. Petersburg). She received MA in classical philology from Saint Petersburg State University (Russia), MA in religious studies from Aarhus University (Denmark) and doctoral degree from the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House). She is interested in reception of classical heritage, Russian symbolism, early Christian hagiography and Syriac Christianity. Her current research focuses on early translations of Greek hagiographical texts. During her research stay in France Liia will be hosted by the Institut de recherche et d’Histoire des textes (CNRS, UPR 841) at the Campus Condorcet (Aubervilliers).
