The project
Title: L’activisme camerounais en exil et la promotion de l’État de droit : étude des stratégies de mobilisation de la diaspora et impact socio-politique au Cameroun (1990-2025).
"This research project is framed by the context of the political and social transformations that have shaped Cameroon since the transition toward political pluralism in the 1990s. It seeks to understand how political constraints, repression, and restrictions on civil liberties have contributed to the emergence and development of Cameroonian mobilizations abroad.
The study analyzes the evolution of forms of activism, as well as the actors and organizations involved in these mobilizations. In this regard, it focuses particularly on the strategies developed by members of the diaspora to sustain their political engagement despite being geographically distant from the national territory.
The project also examines the transnational networks connecting exiled activists with social and political actors based in Cameroon, as well as the use of new media and social networks as tools for mobilization and awareness-raising. In addition, it seeks to identify the limitations and challenges faced by mobilizations in exile."
