Ekaterina Demintseva earned her PhD in World History from the Institute for African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow in 2002. She is currently a Visiting Researcher at ShanghaiTech University. Previously, she headed the Center for Qualitative Research in Social Policy and served as an Associate Professor at the Higher School of Economics (HSE University) in Moscow. Since 2013, she has led several research projects on migration policies.
