The project
Title: “Meyerson’s Metaphysics of Science”
The metaphysics of science has emerged as a distinct research field, integrating philosophical discussions on scientific realism, laws of nature, and metaphysical explanation. This project explores the historical dimension of this field, focusing on Émile Meyerson's unique perspective. Unlike his contemporaries, Meyerson emphasized metaphysics' crucial role in scientific practice and philosophical analysis. The investigation examines two key points: the interplay between science and metaphysics, and Meyerson's view on the metaphysics of natural laws. By historicizing these insights, the research aims to contribute to current discussions in the metaphysics of science and laws of nature.
