For this episode of Histoire de mobilité, we're in Beirut with Myriam Catusse, director of research at the CNRS, sociologist of politics and director of the Institut français du Proche-Orient (IFPO) since September 2021. The IFPO is an institute whose area of expertise is rooted in five countries in the Middle East: Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, the Palestinian territories, or Palestinian territory, and Syria.

In this podcast, Myriam Catusse highlights the IFPO's objectives and active cooperation with the FMSH as part of the Atlas programme. She explains why the Atlas programme's support for mobility is an essential opportunity to create lasting links with young PhDs, maintain the networks forged by working relationships and rapidly set up research projects.

Histoires de mobilité

The FMSH and its partners offer mobility grants for post-doctoral research stays in the humanities and social sciences. Every year, the Atlas programme enables researchers to spend 1 to 3 months in France or abroad conducting field research.

Histoires de mobilité is a podcast series in which researchers who have taken part in the programme share their international research experiences.
