Se souvenir d'Humoresques

Immersing oneself in rereading the 42 issues of Humoresques (plus two volumes of proceedings) is a fascinating experience. Always curious about research on laughter, the author and editor-in-chief wondered about the evolution of the themes addressed and the representations of laughter and humour that emerged from the works published in the journal. The aim was not so much to compile a list as to embrace the conceptual universe of this collection of necessarily distinct texts and to understand how questions arose for me that would not have found a solution there.

After a reminder of the origins of Humoresques, the main issues addressed by the authors are presented: more than 400 researchers, students, scholars, amateurs, etc. The aim is to highlight some points for reflection on the forms of sociability invested in comedy and characteristic of either community or national humour.
