L’histoire, mesure du monde was written by Fernand Braudel based on notes taken by his students, but was not published in a collection until after his death, thanks to the efforts of Paule Braudel. As it is difficult to obtain today, Éditions de la MSH felt it was important to republish this text, which lays the foundations for Braudelian thought and global history, supplemented by a foreword by Sanjay Subrahmanyam, an international specialist in connected history, and an afterword by Christian Grataloup, a geographer and champion of geohistory.
