Interagir en situation de jeu : catégorisations et positionnement

Revue "Langage & Société" n° 182 – 2024/2
language-et-société
The study of play is attracting growing interest. This issue looks at interactions in play through the sociolinguistic lens of categorisation, and examines the construction and emergence of different categories in play.

This dossier brings together French-language research on board games (Barbier; Bécu-Robinault & Ghimenton), a digitised game (Heiden & Quignard) and games on the Twitch platform (Colón de Carvajal). The authors draw on Goffman's role theory, membership categorization analysis and positioning theory to understand the practices and issues involved in categorization during the game or afterwards.
