"Harlem, une histoire de la gentrification"

"Will black people be able to hold their own in Harlem?" wondered James Weldon Johnson in 1925. Nearly a century later, this book offers an answer to his question. Harlem will soon no longer be a black American neighborhood. Perhaps it already isn't. Its reconquest, begun in the 1980s, accelerated in the late 2000s, supported by successive municipal governments. Indeed, Harlem's gentrification is largely the result of proactive public policies.
