Pariscience Festival 2026: the FMSH partner for the 8th consecutive year
In 2026, the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme is renewing its partnership with the Pariscience festival, organised by the Association Science & Télévision. Since 2005, this free festival has played a key role in promoting science through audiovisual media and fostering public debate.
As part of this eighth year of collaboration, the FMSH reaffirms its support for audiovisual formats that explore science and its contemporary challenges. It notably supports the Symbiose competition, a creative challenge in which short films are produced within 48 hours based on scientific themes.
The Foundation provides its studio/forum to support filming teams during production phases. The resulting films are then broadcast on Canal-U, further extending their reach to both academic and general audiences.
Pariscience offers a curated selection of films addressing a wide range of scientific themes to suit all interests and engage all audiences. Its programming is designed for school groups (from primary to final year of secondary school), family audiences, science and film enthusiasts, and professionals alike. The festival also reinforces its role as a scientific and cultural mediator with screenings and discussions adapted for deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences.
Television documentaries, feature-length and short films, fiction, animation, virtual reality works, scientific web videos… Pariscience delivers a rich programme spanning multiple formats and narrative approaches.
Pariscience fosters projects by connecting the worlds of audiovisual production, research and creative practice. With the support of its partners, the festival helps emerging talent develop and supports the creation of new scientific films through a variety of initiatives.
For the first time, the FMSH is partnering with Symbiose, the 48-hour short film competition organised as part of the festival. On this occasion, it provides its studio/forum to host filming teams. Canal-U, the audiovisual platform run by the Foundation, is also a partner of the initiative: the completed films will be broadcast on the platform, helping to showcase the creativity and commitment of emerging talent engaging with contemporary scientific issues.
Reflecting current events, Pariscience’s programme mirrors scientific advances and the concerns of those working in the field. By highlighting major contemporary scientific and societal questions, the festival invites audiences to engage with the challenges of tomorrow through discussions held after each screening.
The Pariscience festival is organised by the Association Science & Télévision (AST).
Founded in 2001, AST brings together 120 independent producers working across 53 production companies. These companies produce across all genres: documentaries for cinema and television, magazine programmes, reports and web documentaries. With the support of the CNC and Procirep, AST develops numerous initiatives aimed at promoting scientific film on television, facilitating its production and distribution, encouraging international co-productions, and strengthening links between the audiovisual and research sectors.
