As part of the 2026 edition of the Pint of Science festival, the FMSH and Canal-U are continuing their commitment alongside the event in the Île-de-France region. After supporting the Paris edition in 2025, their involvement is expanding this year to two new cities, Clichy and Malakoff, bringing the total number of supported events to 45. Canal-U will be introduced at the opening of each evening and will publish a thematic dossier linked to the festival’s talks.

As partners of the Pint of Science festival, the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme and Canal-U reaffirm their commitment in 2026 to this scientific outreach event.

This collaboration is part of the ongoing commitment by the FMSH and Canal-U to the dissemination of knowledge and to fostering dialogue between research and society. As a leading audiovisual platform for higher education and research, Canal-U provides free and open access to thousands of peer-reviewed scientific resources for students, lecturers and researchers.

A broader support across the Île-de-France region

A major national festival, Pint of Science takes place each year in numerous cities across France. In the Île-de-France region, the FMSH and Canal-U are strengthening their presence in 2026 by supporting, in addition to Paris in 2025, two new cities: Clichy and Malakoff.

This expanded support brings the total number of events accompanied this year to 45, reflecting the growing momentum of this partnership and the appeal of accessible and informal formats of scientific outreach.

Canal-U at the heart of the evenings

Canal-U will be introduced at the beginning of each evening. This presentation offers an opportunity for festival audiences to discover the platform and places the discussions within a broader perspective beyond the events themselves.

A thematic dossier will also be published on Canal-U, bringing together a selection of content related to the topics discussed during the evenings. This editorial feature will extend the conversations and provide further insight into the themes explored during the festival.

By combining live interventions with online resources, Canal-U positions itself as a natural extension of scientific exchange, accessible to all at any time.

A festival bringing science and society closer together

Founded in 2012, Pint of Science aims to bring research out of the laboratory and into everyday venues such as pubs and cafés. Researchers present their work in an accessible and interactive setting, encouraging direct dialogue with the public.

The 2026 edition will take place from 18 to 20 May in numerous cities across France and internationally, covering topics ranging from life sciences to the humanities and social sciences.
