Initiated by the Constitutional Council for its first edition, on October 4, 2017, on the anniversary of the Constitution of the 5th Republic, the Night of law tends to be a moment of exchanges that contribute to the public debate, in view of the importance of law in our society. Legal practicionners, intellectuals, public officials and civil society personalities will take part in this event.

The first edition took place on the site of the Constitutional Council. For 2018, institutions, universities, actors and diverse places are invited to take over and to organise it across the territory.

For the 2018 edition, the 54 boulevard Raspail in Paris opens its doors!

As asked by the GIP "Research law and justice mission", the CLAMOR (UMS 3726) will provide the different activities in the hall of the building 54, which has a long judiciary history.

Different interventions (screenings, sung criminal lament, as well as an exhibition about the history of the place and the history of justice in its relation with citizenship) will set the tempo of this event.

Programme :

  • Alfred Dreyfus at the Cherche-Midi prison | Conference of Philippe Oriol (Cesacom) and exhibition commented by Jacky Tronel (CLAMOR)
  • Criminal laments interprated by Jean-Michel "Maxou" Heintzen (CLAMOR)
  • From the house of the good pastor to the Maison des sciences de l'homme and the history of justice in France, from the Ancien Régime to today
