The Maison Suger is pleased to host the seminar 'China through the Eyes of French Writers between 1950 and 1980,' organised by the research network 'The New French Sinology'.

French sinological studies have always been influenced by the general perception that the French, particularly the elite, had of China at different times, while themselves helping to shape this vision. In this session, LIU Yangyang will present his research on the infatuation with China that developed in France between 1950 and 1980.
