Study day under the direction of Agnès Whitfield (York University - Toronto, Canada - researcher in residence at Maison Suger) in collaboration with Maison Suger and the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme.

Translatology is becoming increasingly interested in the challenges of archival research. As a rich source of information, literary translators' archives shed valuable light not only on their approach to translation, but also on the many relationships they maintain with other agents (authors, publishers, librarians, literary agents). Giving away one's archives is no easy task. As important as it is to archive the work of contemporary translators, there are many obstacles to the archival process. The aim of this study day is to identify the concrete issues involved in building up and promoting the archives of literary translators.
