Archéologie Amazonie

The Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme and Éditions de la MSH are organising an evening to present Archéologie de l'Amazonie, to be published on January 23, 2025 in "Amérique(s)" collection.

This ‘"Livres en dialogue“ session will bring together the co-director of the book, Stéphen Rostain, and the journalist (RFI) Caroline Lachowsky.

After the meeting, you will have the opportunity to ask our guests any questions you may have. The meeting will be followed by a convivial moment.

About the book

This book is the first to present the most recent archaeological research by eminent archaeologists who, in clear language and accompanied by numerous illustrations, explain the history of Amazonia taking into account the most relevant features of the landscape. This book will enable students of different branches of the social and natural sciences to tackle subjects such as the origin of monumentality, the transformation of the landscape, the different agricultural techniques, the use of land and space, and the technologies and arts that have accompanied and characterised these cultures over time.
