The Ethics Committee is an advisory body that provides opinions and recommendations on the definition and implementation of an ethical policy that respects the values and identity of the Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme.

Areas of activity

The Ethics Committee formulates, independently and objectively, opinions and recommendations on ethical and deontological questions arising from the activities and functioning of the Foundation.

The committee is active in 4 main areas:

  • Identification and prevention of ethical risks in a broad context (tax evasion, lobbying, respect for human rights, health and safety, environmental impacts, confidentiality of personal data, remuneration of executives, etc.) ;
  • Preventing conflicts of interest and non-compliance with ethical principles in contractual choices and the acceptance of donations ;
  • Assessing ethical breach situations ;
  • Monitoring the implementation of actions to prevent risks and conflicts of interest.

How to contact the ethics committee?

Any individual or legal entity in contact with the FMSH may refer a matter to the ethics committee regarding one or more questions relating to an ethical situation in connection with the Foundation's activities.
