Researcher in residence at the Maison Suger | December 2023-March 2024
Pedro Abramo is professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Senior Researcher at the Brazilian Scientific Council, and he joins the CEMS - Centre d'Études sur les Mouvements Sociaux of the EHESS - École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. He has coordinated comparative research in Latin America and South Korea on urban informality, forms of production in popular territories, informal land markets and the dynamics of reproducing life in popular informal settlements. During his stay at CEMS, Pedro Abramo will pursue his current research on the new urban informality in Latin America, the monetization of popular space and the reconfiguration of collective life and the sense of public in favelas.
