Nina Sahraoui

Biography

Nina Sahraoui is a Post-doctoral Researcher at the Paris Centre for Sociological and Political Research, CNRS Research Unit 7217, and Associate Researcher to the Chair Exile and Migration at the Collège d’études mondiales, FMSH in Paris. At the Collège, Nina co-organised with Nora Ratzmann the international workshop ‘The (Un)deserving migrant?’ in September 2019.

Previously, Nina was Post-doctoral Research Associate at the European University Institute within the EU Border Care project and conducted research on the politics of maternity care among undocumented migrants on the peripheries of the European Union, in Melilla (Spain) and Mayotte (France).

Nina completed her PhD in the framework of a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship at London Metropolitan University. Her doctoral research focused on migrant workers’ experiences in older-age care in London, Paris and Madrid on the basis of which Nina conducted a gendered political economy analysis of intersecting employment, care and migration regimes. Nina recently published this research as a monograph: Racialised Workers and European Older-Age Care. From Care Labour to Care Ethics (with Palgrave Macmillan, 2019).
