Maxim Shikulo

Promoted from the aspirantura of the Lomonosov State University of Moscow, the faculty of history, Maxim Shikulo holds the diploma of historian, history teacher and the doctoral degree (Kandidat of historical sciences). He specializes in the history of modern France and diplomatic ceremonies. During his doctorate he did a scientific internship at Paris 1 University (in spring 2014). In autumn 2014, he obtained a research grant from the French Embassy in Russia. In his doctoral thesis, he analyzed ceremonial practices at the court of Louis XIV, he tried to decipher this symbolic language of French diplomacy and understand its role in the construction of the image of royal power. Currently, he continues his research, and writes a book on this issue.
