Maurizio Ferraris

Biography

Maurizio Ferraris was born on February 7, 1956 in Turin. He teaches theoretical philosophy at the University of Turin where he also serves as the director of the Interuniversity Center for Theoretical and Applied Ontology (CTAO).

As a philosopher, his work is based on disciplines such as ontology, aesthetics and hermeneutics, applying them to web technologies.

 

Research Projects

The research initiative Documédialité led by Maurizio Ferraris at the Collège d'études mondiales (FMSH) aims to study the issues about the traces, documents, archives and medias at the age of the web, taking SHS research as a case-study.
