Matteo Vagelli

Biography

Matteo Vagelli holds a BA and an MA in philosophy from the Università degli Studi di Pisa. He obtained his PhD in philosophy from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and the Scuola Alti Studi Fondazione San Carlo (Modena) under the supervision of Jean-François Braunstein (Paris 1) and Arnold Davidson (Chicago).

He has done research at the University of Chicago, the Goethe Universität Frankfurt Am Main and the Centre Marc Bloch in Berlin. 

He coordinates the research network “Epistémologie historique : traditions and methods of historical epistemology”.

In 2017 he held the Chair “Pensées françaises contemporaines” at the European University Viadrina (Frankfurt Oder) as visiting lecturer.

Research projects

Matteo Vagelli is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Collège d’études mondiales, where he works, within the framework of the Chair Ethics and Finance, on the philosophical and ethical underpinnings of financial theories and practices.
