Enrico Gualini

Biography

Enrico Gualini is Professor of Planning Theory and Urban-Regional Policy Analysis at the Institute for Urban and Regional Planning of TU Berlin - Berlin University of Technology. He holds a PhD in Planning from Politecnico di Milano (1997) and has developed his academic career through affiliations with Politecnico di Milano (1994-1997), the University of Dortmund (1997-2000), and the University of Amsterdam (2001-2006), as well as through research internships and fellowships in further countries including the US. His major research interests are the social construction of space and the political dimension of socio-spatial practices, the analysis of spatial development policies, the emergence of governance practices and the resulting challenges for democratic politics and institutions, as well as current planning-theoretical reflections on such issues.
