Geographer Bernard Tallet is Director of CEMCA (Centre d'Etudes Mexicaines et Centre-américaines), one of 27 French research institutes abroad (UMIFRE) under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique. CEMCA is based in Mexico City and also has a branch in Guatemala.

In this podcast, Bernard Tallet highlights the evolution of the research center he has been directing since 2018, and the active cooperation with the FMSH as part of the Atlas programme. He explains why the Atlas programme's support for mobility is an essential opportunity for young PhDs, who unfortunately find it extremely difficult to find a lasting place in a research structure.

Histoires de mobilité

The FMSH and its partners offer mobility grants for post-doctoral research stays in the humanities and social sciences. Every year, the Atlas programme enables researchers to spend 1 to 3 months in France or abroad conducting field research.

Histoires de mobilité is a podcast series in which researchers who have taken part in the programme share their international research experiences.
