Houda Bouzidi is a researcher at the University of Mostaganem in Algeria. In 2018, she benefited from a mobility grant from the FMSH and the CASS (Arab Council for Social Sciences) to come and conduct field research in France, at the University of Angers.

After completing her thesis on the trauma experienced by Algerian women victims of rape, Houda decided to focus her post-doctoral research on a comparative study of the cultural parameters of trauma. During her stay in France, she was able to meet women victims and give a real transcultural dimension to her subject.

The FMSH and its partners offer mobility grants for post-doctoral research stays in the humanities and social sciences. Every year, the Atlas programme enables researchers to spend 1 to 3 months in France or abroad conducting field research.

Histoires de mobilité is a podcast series in which researchers who have taken part in the programme share their international research experiences.
