Nymphoplastie

In this book, clinical psychologist Sara Piazza examines this practice in terms of norms, fantasies and the representation of the body. In turn, she refers to ‘little girl sex’ or ‘clean-cut sex’, which conjure up images of childhood and avoid confronting certain other aspects of the female sex - female sexuality as uncontrollable and disproportionate, the danger that the vulva can represent, the relationship with maternal sex, and finally the dimension of old age and death.
Sara Piazza is a clinical psychologist. She works in intensive care and on the mobile palliative care team at the Delafontaine hospital in Saint-Denis. She is also chair of the local ethics committee at the Saint-Denis hospital. Her work focuses on both female cosmetic surgery and end-of-life issues. Her publications include: ‘La nymphoplastie. Nouvelle modalité de l'insupportable du sexe féminin’, Recherches en psychanalyse, 2014/1 (no. 17), pp. 27-34; with MARIN Isabelle, “Le soin aux étrangers : une question médicale, morale et politique”, Jusqu'à la mort accompagner la vie, 2015/4 (no. 123), pp. 55-68 ; ‘ Réanimation et soins palliatifs : même combat? “, Jusqu'à la mort accompagner la vie, 2019/1 (n° 136), p. 77-93 ; with Isabelle MARIN, ” Euthanasie : un progrès social ? ’, 2023, éditions Feedback.
