Testimonies from his friends and colleagues at the Fondation Maison des sciences de l'homme
The passing of Immanuel Wallerstein turns a page from a 50-year-long story. A story made of intellectual depth, engagement, solidarity and friendship in which the Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme bears an important role.
Immanuel has always been a relative and a supporter of the FMSH, it was his home. He had a seat at the Surveillance council, as the president of the Association des amis de la FMSH, and his last book in French La Gauche globale, hier, aujourd’hui et demain was the result of a series of conferences given at the Collège d'études mondiales.
Maurice Aymard, Craig Calhoun, Jean-Luc Racine, Alain Touraine and myself have known, appreciated and loved Immanuel : we wanted to highlight the breadth of his exceptional character along with the expression of our grief.
You'll fin in our texts many links that will enable you to get to know Immanuel's work through his books, articles and stances in the media.
