Pariscience Festival

The Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme is a partner of Pariscience, the International Science Film Festival which presents every year, for free, a selection of the very best international and French scientific documentaries. Short films, features, or series, no matter what you prefer, you can find them at Pariscience.
For years, the festival’s mission has remained the same: question, debate, and think about, together, an inspiring future. We aim to act as a bridge between artistic pursuits and scientific knowledge and to facilitate sharing and dialogue, to better give audiences the keys to understanding current scientific stakes and their societal impact.
That is why every screening at Pariscience is followed by a discussion between researchers, filmmakers, and the public.
A way to share knowledge, raise awareness, and exchange new ideas.
Through the films of its selection, Pariscience tackles a broad variety of scientific subjects. The goal? To appeal to different audiences and to satisfy everyone’s curiosity.
The festival’s programming includes screenings designed for school audiences, for families, for professionals, for science lovers and for curious newcomers alike. Each year, several screenings and discussions are made available to deaf and hard of hearing people.
TV documentaries, features and short films, fiction and animation, or online video content… Every format and style of writing is welcome at Pariscience.
Pariscience backs several projects which combines scientific mediation and film production. With the support of its partners, the festival fosters new talent and actively stimulates the creation of new documentaries.
Every year, Pariscience presents a selection of documentaries that examines and interrogates current events. Through Q&As and debates, the festival strives to give its audience all the necessary tools to understand the great scientific discoveries of our time and the way they impact the future of our societies.

Created in 2001, the AST is comprised of 113 independent French producers from 53 production companies and 3 scientific institutes. They produce film features, TV documentaries, series, reports and webdocs.
The common denominator? Their productions tackle scientific subjects.
With the support of the CNC and the Procirep, the AST has developed numerous actions which aim at promoting scientific programming on TV, facilitating the production and distribution of science films, encouraging international coproductions and strengthening the bonds between the world of research and the audiovisual sector.
